The Old Boys team is a veteran team made up of players who are over 40 years old. Some of whom may have played for Stockholm CC in their youth,  others are new to the club.  

During a season the Old Boys team have an ambition to play at least 5 to 6 friendly matches.  Matches are organsied by a Match Manager and may be for fixed number of overs (T20, 30-overs, etc) or timed matches (declaration). 

GCC won the toss and elected to field first. The top order of Stockholm old boys have collapsed a little earlier than expected, Siva and Prem tried to set the stage for a decent target but couldn’t continue long. It was the long partnership by Hari and Saravanan that put us on decent score, they have batted sensibly to the match situation. Later Moorthy and Satish played well and the team have set the target of 214.

GCC have started their innings very well. Though our opening bowlers bowled very well, We couldn’t convert it into wickets to break the partnership for almost 16 overs. Ayyappa breaks the partnership around 18th over. From then on, our bowlers started taking wickets again. Prem took two brilliant wickets, Saravanan has taken an excellent wicket with smart bowling. Moorthy has bowled well controlling the score. One bowling performance to speak about is our new player Venkats first match with us has taken a wicket with a spectacular caught and bowled, good bowling. Need to mention about the keeper Vasanth, amazing job. From then on it was run a ball, 24 runs in 24 balls. It was a great fight by both the teams. GWCC wins! A great win for GCC.

All in all a great day with good cricket!
