2022 Season Reveiw
2022-09-18 07:46

With some great team performances throughout the summer, in the 2022 season the 1st XI narrowly missed out on promotion to All Svenskan.

In 2022 the club’s “representationslag“, the Mens 1st XI, competed in the SCF 40 Over series, the Swedish Cup (T10 series) and Superettan for the T20.

The vice-captain, Jyoti, in summarising the season saw “some great all round performances from the team. There were some great individual performances as well specially led by Abhishek Mathur in the batting segment and Paul Macintosh leading the bowling side. (It) was a little unfortunate at the end as we couldn’t qualify for the All Svenskan league, narrowly missing out by 1 point”.

During 2022 "the team is more one, more consistent and enjoying each others success better", said Archan Vaidya.  So with the license to Superettan being secured for 2023, the results from 2022 show that a solid base is being built for 2023.

40-Over Series

For the first time the 40-over series did not have any promotion or relegation,  rather it was a pure round robin with groups made up of selected teams.  This resulted in a very uneven competition,  with many weaker teams being placed together with stronger teams.   Playing in Group North D, Stockholm CC finished in 3rd place. Leading Batsman for the club was Ankit Tiwari with 133 run in 3 matches. Leading bowler was Paul McIntosh with 16 wickets in 3 matches.

Swedish Cup (T10 Compeition)

The Swedish Cup format was changed 2 weeks before the start of the competition,  with qualifying groups leading to a knock out stage and the removal of ECN matches from the compeition. Playing in Group North A,  we finished in 2nd place and did not progress. Leadign batsman was  Manoj Singh Tomar with 88 runs in 3 matches.  Leading bowler was Deepjagan Sandhu with 5 wickets in 3 matches.
