On Sunday a combined U19 team from Djurgården IF and Stockholm CC (DIF-SCC U19) played their first T20 match of the season against Alby Zalmi.

DIF-SCC U19 won the toss and elected to field first. The DIF-SCC team bowled a great line and length and after the first 10 overs had restricted Alby to 60 runs. Unfortunately the weather then turned and with the rain the bowlers lost a little control of the slippery ball, we dropped a few catches and Alby were able to pull away with their 6 hitting power and ended with a total of 157 for 8 after their 20 overs. Aryan, Aditya and Zair each picked up 2 wickets, with Abdul and Ritam one each.

DIF-SCC opened the batting with Aditya and Nevan, both who got off to a good start, putting up 23 in the first 3 overs. Alby's opening bowlers were both bowling at exceptional pace with lots of swing, and our side has not played such pace before. The first to go was Aditya, then came in the best batsman of the day, Ritam who played a waiting game, and put up an unbeaten 50 (highest score of the day). However, with wickets falling continuously at the other end, it was tough to build enough scoring partnerships, to see the game through. In the end we managed to score 117 for 6 in our allocated 20 overs.

In the end a loss by 50 run.  But a good learnign experience and the team are lookign forward to the return match on Sunday

A big thanks to the parents of Flynn and Advait who have travelled a long way to the ground, not knowing if their kids will be a part of the playing 11. They supported with great spirit, with one parent helping with the scoring and the other parent guiding the team with inputs.
