The board understand that many people may not want to play cricket in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic. In Sweden there is (at the time of writing this) no lock down and Folkhälsomyndiheten have stated that training or playing sports is good for one’s health but it must be done safely.  The club are trying our best to balance this.

Training

The board have decided that in accordance with FHM & RFs recommendations there will be no indoor training sessions held. If possible we plan to hold outdoor training sessions from 30-April, in which the club will follow social distancing rules.

The board understand that the situation is fluid and changes rapidly, we will constantly monitor the recommendations from FHM, RF and SCF along with other governmental departments.

Social distancing rules

To be safe during the covid-19 pandemic, we need to apply social distancing rules at training and in matches.  These rules are:

  • All players/coaches with covid-19 symptoms to report this immediately to club and be quarantined from training until symptom free for 2 days.
  • No hand shaking
  • No team huddles
  • No sharing of any equipment including cricket equipment other than the ball (e.g. helmets, bats, gloves)
  • Don’t share drinks, towels, lip balm, sunscreen with others (have own)
  • Don’t polish ball
  • Players stay one metre apart at team meetings (no touching)
  • Players come to the ground changed and ready to go

When we hold training sessions we will try to work in smaller groups and not run training sessions for a long time period.

Activity fees

The clubs’ board have therefore decided that if a member does not want to risk playing cricket in 2020, and have paid their activity fee, then we will credit their 2020 activity fee towards 2021.  The member must email This is a mailto link, and state that they wish to remain a member but not play in 2020 due to corona.

Naturally, if the member attends any team training or match during the 2020 season then the club will automatically assume the person has changed their mind and the credit towards 2021 will be lost.

If the mermber does not want to play cricket in 2020 and haven’t paid their activity fee, but probably do in 2021 - then the member should email the club so we know not to expect their activity fee payment.

The 100kr membership fee for the club is an annual fee that we cannot waive.
