On Sunday, 9-Sept, we held the last set of matches in the U13 Poolspel competition at Hägerstensåsen BP. The U13 Poolspel involved 5 teams from 4 clubs in Stockholm County -  Alby, Saltsjöbaden, SACS and Stockholm CC (who had 2 teams) – playing a series of kwik cricket matches on a Sunday morning so each team gets 2 to 3 quick fast paced matches per week in which the players can test the skills that they have been learning at practice.  And get used to playing in a more organised manner than just street cricket.

After the matches there was a short presentation of certificates to the participants and Rakesh showed his skills off by providing a fantastic fika.  We would like to thank Stockholmsidrotten for their support and advice during the year, and the parents from each clubs in bringing their children to a game at such an early time each Sunday morning. But perhaps most importantly we’d like to thank the children for the enthusiasm, commitment and enjoyment. Our hope is that you all continue playing and enjoying cricket in the years ahead.

Here are some numbers about the season:

  • Number of participating clubs: 4
  • Number of teams: 5
  • Number of children who participated: 73
  • Number of person hours cricket played: 512
